The year is coming to a close and that brings with it many opportunities for adults to celebrate, but you may be wondering how you can share the excitement with your little one without the downside of a bedtime past midnight. We’ve got you covered! We have gathered some kid-friendly events going on in around Philadelphia to provide the New Years Eve experience perfectly catered to a child’s schedule.
For an early start, head to The Ardmore Music Hall’s “Family Jam” doors open at 10am, and tickets include face painting, caricatures, balloon artists, live music, and a ball drop at noon. Brunch treats and drinks are also available at the event for purchase. Visit Ardmore Music Hall’s website for more info on the event.
In Philadelphia, the Please Touch Museum is hosting their “Countdown2Noon” event that includes 2 ball drops at noon and 1pm, live music, and tons of activities to get the kids in the spirit of New Years Eve. Not only is there a confetti bag station, but tons of crafts and the usual “Please Touch” hands-on play. Visit their website for more information.
The Garden State Discovery museum is also hosting a countdown to Noon in Cherry Hill NJ. The msueum is also hosting two countdowns, at noon, and 3pm respectively with celebrations beginning 15 minutes beforehand. In the meantime you and your child and explore the museum which includes over 20 hands on “kid-powered” interactive exhibits catered to ages 0-10! Click Here for more info!
Finally, There is an evening “Square Drop” at Franklin Square, on top of Square Burger at 6pm! For the little ones really down to shake it there is a kids Dance Party happening until 8.
Happening concurrently at SugarHouse Casino, fireworks will be going off at 6pm. They can be easily seen from Franklin Square Park, or if you want a closer look at the action you can bring a blanket at hot cocoa to Penn’s Landing or Penn Treaty Park and take in the spectacle.
We hope you all have a fabulous New Years eve, whether you celebrate at noon or midnight! Sip a champagne or sparkling grape juice and look forward to what is ahead in 2019.
